Activity is continuing apace in the volunteer space. Since the last newsletter in February we’ve brought on 5 new volunteer drivers for Thomastown (See their pics in the Let’s Celebrate section of the newsletter) and we have another 10 volunteers drivers coming through onboarding.
We’ve also reopened recruitment for Volunteer Outing Hosts across our catchment, including in the East. There’s already new applications coming in and I look forward to being able to report on our progress in the next newsletter.
Our activity has increased in the social media space thanks to our new Digital Media team, comprising Alexandra Corales and Mitch Knightbridge. They’ve both been doing great work to boost our profile.
We’ll also be recruiting for an additional part-time Volunteer Admin and for a Volunteer Grant Writer. Please pass the word on to anyone you think might be a fit for those roles.
We held Volunteer BBQs in February and March, in Bundoora Park and Canning Reserve respectively. We had a great turnout for both events and it was great to see volunteers and their families chatting and enjoying the evening.
Our next events are a Volunteer Pizza & Trivia night on Tuesday 29th April and our Volunteer Appreciation Dinner on Thursday 22nd May, that will be part of our National Volunteer Week celebrations. Please keep an eye out for your email invite to these activities.
