March has been a fantastic month for outings, with a busy and exciting schedule. Some of the highlights included exploring different cuisines—enjoying Indian flavours at Daughter in Law, and Mediterranean dishes at Nana’s Place— watching seals on the Hygiea boat cruise, riding the Vintage Talking Tram to learn the history of Bendigo, and picking fresh fruit at Rayner’s Orchard.
Another important milestone was our catch-up with the Outing Host team. It was great to see the team come together, share valuable feedback, and contribute to improving the program. A big thank you to everyone for your hard work and dedication!
The PowerPoint from the meeting has been shared with all our hosts as well as a handy document on ‘Strategies for De-escalation’ to help with defusing difficult situations.
There are also a number of feedback forms currently circulating. Here are the links so that you can easily access them for yourself or a client as appropriate.
We would particularly like to acknowledge those of you who have indicated an interest in contributing to outings in ways beyond just what happens on the day. We’re aware that you all have a wealth of experience and expertise behind you and we’ll look at ways to involve those who would like to apply those skills ‘behind-the-scenes’.
As we move forward, we are now planning the next phase of outings from July to December. If you have any great suggestions, we’d love to hear them!
Kind regards
Lajan Maharjan
