A New Beginning — Our New Preston Home
August has marked an exciting new chapter for LINK Community & Transport, with the entire organisation now operating from our new Head Office in Preston.
Our move to Preston represents an important step forward for LINK, providing our teams with a new home and improved facilities to support our organisation, our staff, our volunteers and, most importantly, the clients and community we serve.
One of the key benefits of our new site is the increased security and improved security measures, providing greater protection for our staff, volunteers, vehicles, equipment and other LINK assets. This provides an added level of safety and security for everyone who works at or visits the site, while also giving us greater peace of mind knowing our fleet and valuable assets are better protected.
As with any major move, there have naturally been a few teething issues along the way. We appreciate everyone’s patience, cooperation and understanding as we continue settling into the new site, working through challenges, identifying improvements and finding solutions together.
A big thank you to everyone across LINK who contributed to and supported the move. It has been a significant change for the organisation, and it has been great to see everyone coming together and adapting to our new environment.
🌟 New Home. New Opportunities. Greater Security. One LINK.
We look forward to making the most of our new Preston home and continuing to grow, improve and strengthen the services we provide to our clients and community.
🚗 Fleet Update — Our Vehicles Are Now in the Warehouse
The move to Preston has also brought changes to the way we store and manage our fleet.
As part of the new arrangements, 21 vehicles are now being stored at the Warehouse, along with 2 Home Maintenance trailers.
Current Warehouse Allocation
- 🚐 19 Transport vehicles
- 🛠️ 2 Home Maintenance utes
- 🛠️ 2 Home Maintenance trailers
Total: 21 vehicles + 2 trailers
In addition to the vehicles and trailers stored at the Warehouse, 2 Camry vehicles remain outside in their designated parking spaces.
The new arrangement provides a more centralised location for our fleet, while the increased security at the new site provides an additional layer of protection for our vehicles and assets.
⚠️ Warehouse & Vehicle Safety — Please Adhere to Processes & Procedures
With the increased number of vehicles being stored at the Warehouse, all drivers and staff are reminded to:
- Park vehicles only in designated areas.
- Ensure vehicles are parked safely and do not obstruct other vehicles, access points or walkways.
- Take care when entering and exiting the Warehouse and surrounding areas.
- Keep vehicle keys in the designated location when vehicles are not in use.
- Steering wheel locks must be attached and secured at the end of each day.
- Vehicle handbrakes must be applied and upright when vehicles are returned at the end of the day.
- Report any vehicle damage, faults or safety concerns as soon as they are identified.
- Ensure vehicles are left clean, tidy and ready for the next driver.
- Complete the required Daily Vehicle Inspection before operating a vehicle.
- Do not leave vehicles unnecessarily idling.
- Ensure vehicles are securely locked when unattended.
- Follow all signage and directions within the Warehouse and surrounding property.
- Be mindful of pedestrians, other drivers and staff when moving vehicles around the site.
🦺 Everyone Has a Role to Play
The Warehouse is a shared operational space, and keeping it safe, clean and organised is everyone’s responsibility.
The improved security at our new site provides an added layer of protection, but good security also relies on everyone following the appropriate procedures and remaining vigilant.
🚌 Looking After LINK Vehicles
Our fleet is one of LINK’s most important operational resources. With a growing number of vehicles now based at the Warehouse, we all have a responsibility to look after them.
If You See It — Report It!
Whether it is:
- ⚠️ A warning light
- 💺 A damaged seat or interior
- 🔧 An unusual noise
- 🛞 A tyre concern
- 🧹 A cleanliness issue
- 🚨 Vehicle damage
- 🛠️ A mechanical or safety concern
Please report it — don’t assume someone else will.
Early reporting allows Fleet and Transport Operations to address issues before they become larger problems and helps ensure our vehicles remain safe, reliable and available for our clients.
🤝 Working Together in Our New Home
The move to Preston is a significant milestone for all of LINK, and we are still continuing to refine our processes, routines and use of the new facilities.
Transport Operations and Fleet will continue working closely with drivers, volunteers, management and teams across LINK to identify what is working well and where improvements can be made.
We appreciate everyone’s cooperation, patience and feedback as we continue to settle into our new home.
Change takes time, and there will inevitably be things we need to adjust along the way. What matters is that we continue to work together, communicate openly and find practical solutions.
🌟 One Team. One Home. One LINK.
Thank you to everyone for your continued hard work, professionalism and support.
We are excited about what this next chapter brings for LINK Community & Transport and look forward to continuing to provide safe, reliable and respectful services to our clients and community.
