Operations & Compliance Update
It’s been a busy period for the Operations and Compliance team, with plenty happening across LINK as we settle into our new home in Preston.
A big thank you to everyone for your patience, flexibility and hard work throughout the move. It’s been a significant undertaking, and it’s great to now be settling into our new space. We look forward to making the most of our Preston location.
CentroAssist is now available to field staff. Training and information will be provided on how to use the system, including how to record incidents and feedback. Staff will also be asked to acknowledge that they have read and understood relevant policies through the system. More information will be provided as we roll this out.
We’re also continuing to streamline some of our operational processes, including our car wash procedures and after-hours processes. The aim is to make these processes clearer, more consistent and easier for everyone to follow.
Our current group of 14 Acknowledge Education students will finish their placement with us this week. We thank them for their contribution and wish them all the best for the next stage of their studies and careers. We’re also looking forward to welcoming the next group of Acknowledge students, who will commence on 14 September.
A warm welcome also to our two new casual staff members, Vicky and Dipesh, who have recently joined the team. We’re very pleased to have them on board.
DEX Stage 3 implementation is also underway. The latest changes to the Data Exchange require CHSP providers to capture additional information about services delivered, giving the Department a clearer picture of the time, resources and complexity involved in providing CHSP services.
For LINK, this means additional information will need to be captured across some of the services we provide. For example, transport services will require more detailed information about trip time, trip distance and client engagement time, as well as whether a volunteer was involved in delivering the service. There are also additional fields relating to meal services. Some of this information is already being captured through our existing processes, but the new requirements mean we need to ensure it is recorded consistently and in the format required for DEX reporting.
Finally, there was a really positive atmosphere at the recent CHSP conference, particularly following the announcement about the future direction of the program. It was encouraging to see such a positive response across the sector and to have some greater clarity about what lies ahead.
There’s plenty happening across operations, compliance and the wider sector, and we’ll continue to keep everyone updated as these changes progress.
