At LINK, we often talk about the importance of connection—supporting people to remain safe, happy and healthy in their own homes, and connected to their community. What continues to stand out to me, every single day, is that this purpose is not just something we say; it is something our people live.
Across the organisation, I continue to see an extraordinary level of commitment from both our staff and volunteers. Whether it’s ensuring a client gets to an essential appointment, facilitating a social outing that brings genuine joy, or simply taking the time to listen and connect; these moments matter. They are the difference we make.
In recent weeks, we have seen this commitment in action through increased demand across our services, particularly in community transport and social support. Our teams have responded with flexibility, care and professionalism, often going above and beyond to ensure no one is left without support. Importantly, this has been achieved through strong teamworkand a shared focus on client outcomes.
Our volunteers remain at the heart of what we do. Their generosity of time, compassion and community spirit is what enables LINK to deliver services at scale while maintaining the personal touch that defines us. I want to sincerely thank each of you for your contribution; you are essential to our success and impact.
At the same time, we are navigating a period of significant reform across aged care and disability services. The proposed transition from the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) to the new Support at Home program is one of the most substantial changes our sector has experienced in many years. While the final timing and implementation are still being worked through, it is clear the future system will place stronger emphasis on client choice, service quality, transparency and long-term sustainability. For LINK, this brings both opportunity and responsibility.
Looking ahead, we will continue to refine and evolve LINK’s services in line with these reforms, while remaining grounded in our purpose. Our focus remains on community connection, supporting our people, strengthening leadership capability, and continuing to identify opportunities to enhance social connection and inclusion across the communities we serve.
