April has been an absolute whirlwind of colour, connection, and community spirit for Group Social Support at Link Community & Transport. If there was ever a month that proved just how vibrant our outings program can be, this was it.
We kicked things off with an Easter Lunch perched high above the treetops at Sky High Mt Dandenong, where the views were as impressive as the company. From there, our adventures stretched far and wide: crossing the sparkling bay from Sorrento to Queenscliff, wandering through the blooming wonderland of the Blue Lotus Water Gardens, and getting up close (sometimes very close!) with the friendly residents of Mansfield Zoo.
April didn’t slow down for a moment. We soaked up the colour and creativity of the Kabloom Festival, stepped back in time aboard the Drysdale to Queenscliff Steam Train, enjoyed a cosy brunch at 38 South, admired classic Aussie icons at the Holden Museum, and rounded things off with a touch of elegance at High Tea at Fortnums. Each outing brought its own flavour, its own laughter, and its own moments of connection.
But these experiences are more than just great days out—they’re opportunities for independence, friendship, and wellbeing. Clients explored new places, rediscovered old favourites, and strengthened social bonds in a warm, supportive group setting.
Our Support for Carers program also shone this month, offering carers the chance to pause, breathe, and enjoy time with others who truly understand their journey. These moments of rest and connection remain a cornerstone of our commitment to supporting carers across Victoria.
Behind the scenes, our operational approach has grown stronger than ever. With the support of larger transport partners, we’ve been able to meet increasing demand while keeping safety, quality, and thoughtful planning at the heart of every outing. Risk assessments, detailed itineraries, and careful coordination ensure that every trip runs smoothly and inclusively.
And of course, none of this magic happens without our incredible Outings Team, Outing Hosts, Volunteers, Drivers, and placement students. Their warmth, dedication, and enthusiasm create the welcoming environment our clients love. They’re the reason every participant feels supported, respected, and genuinely part of something special.
