As we look ahead to the rest of 2025, there’s an important shift on the horizon in our industry: the first stage of the Australian Government’s new Support at Home program begins on 1 July.
This change marks the start of a new chapter in aged care and one that will significantly affect providers currently delivering Home Care Packages. For LINK, however, it’s business as usual for now. Since we operate primarily under the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP), the changes coming into effect in July won’t have a major impact on us directly. Our core funding remains stable, and we won’t be moving to the new model until 2027 at the earliest.
That said, this is still a moment worth paying attention to. As HCP providers adjust to new pricing, payment, and compliance models, we’ll be watching closely. Their experience gives us an opportunity to learn what works well, what doesn’t, and how we can prepare thoughtfully and strategically for our own transition when the time comes.
LINK is in a strong position. Thanks to the work we’ve done over the past year to streamline operations, reduce costs, and improve our efficiency, we’re entering this period of change from a position of strength. Many of the compliance requirements under the new system are things we already do well. This stability gives us breathing room and a chance to gradually explore what the future might look like.
As always, our focus remains on providing exceptional care to our clients, supporting one another, and staying true to who we are as a community organisation. We’ll continue to keep you updated as we learn more, and we’ll navigate any future changes together, with clear communication and support every step of the way.
